We're a mere two weeks away from our first week-long break! We're doing great!
This week will feature the first vocal concert of the year! The concert will be held this Friday, 9/13 in the Reece Theater at 7:30. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at cccepa.com. I hope to see you all there!
For our seniors auditioning for BFA acting and musical theater programs (particularly those who are not in my class this semester and therefore aren't hearing me talk about this every day), I want to remind you all that we'll be taping pre-screen auditions on 9/17 and 9/18. If you are still searching for audition material or would like me to review your choices, please do not hesitate to seek me out or email me with your selections. In addition, please remember that I am available for coaching sessions before and after school by appointment. My schedule is filling up fast but priority will be given to those students who will soon be taping their video auditions.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
Monday-Wednesday we'll continue the process of taping your film/TV scenes in class and reviewing the footage. On Thursday, we'll tape your mock commercial auditions (material provided in class) and then we'll review the footage on Friday and "cast" the roles. As always: if you have not yet taped your scene in class, please make sure you are arriving every day with your scenes memorized and two hard copies of your script.
DRAMA 2
We'll conclude the process of reviewing the first drafts of your children's theater scripts on Monday. You'll then have some time on Tuesday and Wednesday to revise and rehearse your scripts. We'll see first performances in class on Thursday and Friday.
DRAMA 4
On Monday, we'll conclude round two of college research presentations and begin round three. On Tuesday, you'll perform your second class monologue. The remainder of the week will then be devoted to completing round three of college research presentations. However: if we find that we have students who are still scrambling to find monologues for pre-screen tapings, I am prepared to adjust the schedule to include an extra day of roundtable monologue review late in the week. Please have your third school ready to present by Monday.
Have a great week, everybody!
