Happy last week of school before spring break! I'd like to offer a special thank you to the SEVERAL students who have been checking my blog regularly! Here's a quick look at what we'll be doing in class this week:
INTRO:
On Monday we'll go over the assignment for the silent theater pieces you'll be creating this week. You may choose to either work on your own or in groups as large as five, and I will allow you choose your own partners. You'll start rehearsing those pieces on Monday and will have the entire period on Tuesday to work on them. I'll give you some time at the start of class on Wednesday to put on the finishing touches and then we'll start looking at performances in class, and we should be able to finish those performances on Thursday. On Friday - with many students out of class for the NYC trip - we'll spend one more day working on contact improvisation and that will essentially mark the end of our voice and movement unit. Depending on how athletic your silent theater pieces turn out you will likely want to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes each day this week, but most certainly on Friday.
DRAMA 3:
On Monday we'll review the footage from the film scene we shot on Friday and then we'll shoot our FINAL film/TV scene! We'll review that footage at the start of class on Tuesday and then - as we discussed - I'll be holding a headshot/agent workshop in class. If you have a current headshot, please bring it with you to class on Tuesday or have it available in your email account so we can pull it up on my computer and show it on the projector in class. On Wednesday you'll have voice class with Ms. Cook and then on Thursday and Friday we'll get a head start on our movement work, meaning you'll need to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes Wednesday-Friday.
I hope you all have a very fun, happy and safe spring break! Whether you're traveling or staying in town, I encourage you all to get in as much rest and relaxation as possible to gear up for the home stretch of the school year. If anyone needs me I'll be busy watching Atlanta Braves baseball!
