Welcome back! I am profoundly optimistic about this school year and I hope you all share that feeling. This year we welcome a new principal - Dr. Dana Giles - and her theme for this school year of "Changing the Narrative" resonates with me. As a proud Pebblebrook alumnus and member of this community, I am excited for the positive changes that are already taking place and I believe our students will feel the impact of those changes campus-wide. For me personally, this will be lucky year number seven teaching at CCCEPA, and I firmly believe this year will be special for us all.
I want to remind you all that the Falcon Fly By will be this Tuesday, 7/30, and will follow the schedule below (as provided by administration):
Freshman 9:00 – 10:30
9:00 Welcome Session in Jackson Gym
9:30 Student Organization Fair in Morgan Gym, walk the campus to locate classes, sign-up for ParentVue, view bus routes
Upperclassmen 10:30 – 11:30
10:30 Welcome Session in Jackson Gym
11:00 Student Organization Fair in Morgan Gym, walk the campus to locate classes, sign-up for ParentVue, view bus routes
Classes will begin on Thursday, 8/1, meaning this will be a short week. In all of my classes, you can anticipate the first two days being devoted to laying the groundwork for the upcoming semester and setting goals for the new year. As a gentle reminder, however, remember that our traditional "beginning-of-the-year monologue" performances will take place early next week, so it's not too soon to prepare (also remember that you are not required to learn a new monologue for this exercise - you are free to perform something we've seen you do before. The point of this assignment is to give everyone an opportunity to perform at the beginning of the new school year and to touch base on your progress).
I hope you've all had a fun, safe, and restful summer! I'm excited to get back down to business and I hope you are, too!
