Here's your weekly outline for classes in the coming week:
DRAMA 1:
On Monday we will begin work on your movement pieces. You will be allowed the entire class periods on Monday and Tuesday to rehearse and prepare these silent pieces of theater. You will then perform the pieces on Wednesday. Once those performances are completed, we willl return to voice work for the remainder of the week. As we discussed in class, you will need to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes every day.
DRAMA 2:
We will conclude any remaining final performances of your student-written monologues on Monday, and then we will move on to classical text work. We will begin with an introduction to the work and then you will spend the early part of the week searching for a scene or monologue (you will be allowed to use portable electronic devices if you wish). Once your material has been selected, you will spend the remainder of the week rehearsing. The lone exception to this schedule will be Wednesday in 2nd block when you will have a master class with Ms. Fischer (you will be presenting final performances of your combat scenes - please dress accordingly).
DRAMA 4:
This week will be devoted to individual coaching sessions for your scenes. We should be coaching scenes at a rate of approximately three per class period, meaning that the coaching sessions will likely take the entire week. If we are able to move more quickly, however, we will add in more voice work at the end of the week (I'll let you know if you need to bring or wear dress out clothes for that work).
There are two big performances this week! Drama 3 will be presenting their Shakespeare scenes in the black box on Thursday at 6:30 and 8:00, and then the holiday vocal concert will be Friday night at 7:30 in the Reece Theater! I hope to see you all there!
Have a great week, everybody!
