As you all know, I will be away from school for most of this week as I accompany Mr. Timmerman and a group of our seniors to the Unified college auditions. Though I hate to miss class, I am honored to assist our students who are auditioning for collegiate acting and musical theater programs, and I know that you all support them as they chase their dreams. Fortunately, you all have plenty to work on in my absence, as outlined below:
INTRO
During my absence, you will be able to alternate between continuing to rehearse your scenes with your partner(s) and utilizing the scripts in my classroom to search for monologues. Remember that all freshmen, sophomores and juniors in Intro will ultimately need two monologues: one for class performance and another for juries in March. Seniors need only find one monologue to perform in class. Once I return, we will resume the process of individual coaching sessions for your scenes.
DRAMA 3
During my absence, you will memorize and rehearse the mock film/TV audition material I provided to you before my departure. Juniors may also choose to spend some of this time utilizing the scripts in my classroom to search for jury monologues. Once I return, we will tape your mock auditions in class.
Have a great week, everybody, and break a leg to all our auditioning seniors!
