Hopefully by the time you're reading this, you've enjoyed your three day weekend!
The PTSA Open House will be this Thursday, 9/6 at 6:30 pm. Mr. Adams and I will be on hand to greet parents and discuss everything we have going on in the drama department this semester. Hope to see you there!
With no class this Monday, 9/3 due to Labor Day, here is your weekly outline of what to expect during our slightly-shortened week of school:
DRAMA 1 and DRAMA 3
We'll start the week in both classes by wrapping up any in-progress scene work, and then we'll move on to taping our mock film/TV auditions. We'll then review the footage in class and "cast" the roles via class vote. We will then return to the process of shooting film/TV scenes and reviewing the footage in class. As always, please remember that if you have not yet taped your scene you should be arriving to class every day with your lines memorized, scenes blocked and two hard copies of your script.
DRAMA 2
This week we'll move on to our actual children's theater work. You'll be split into groups, select a classic children's story and create your own 5-7 minute performance piece. You'll begin writing your scripts and rehearsing this week. Details will follow soon in terms of performance schedule.
DRAMA 4
This week will be largely devoted to completing our second round of college research presentations. The exception will be on Wednesday, when we'll join with Mr. Adams' class for college audition coaching. If we complete research presentations earlier than expected, we'll continue reviewing potential monologue selections. Looking ahead, you can expect performances of your second approved monologue to occur next Monday, 9/10.
Have a great week, everybody!
