First, I just want to remind you all that this Wednesday, 8/29 will be an early release day for students, so please make sure you plan accordingly in terms of transportation that day.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1 and DRAMA 3
In both classes we will continue the process of taping scenes and reviewing footage in class, while also serving on the camera crew for other students' scenes. As previously noted - if you have not yet taped your scene - please make sure you are arriving every day with your lines memorized, your scenes blocked and two hard copies of your script.
DRAMA 2
We will begin the week by completing final performances of the True West scene. We should be finished with performances by mid-week, and then we'll shift gears entirely into our unit of children's theater. To start, you'll be asked to bring a favorite children's book to share in class. Ultimately, you'll be working in groups to create your own original pieces of children's theater based on classic children's stories.
DRAMA 4
Your first round of monologue performances will take place this Monday. We will then spend a little more time reviewing potential monologue selections, so please make sure you are bringing numerous options to the table until you have four choices approved. Later in the week, we'll begin round two of college research presentations.
Have a great week, everybody! Enjoy the upcoming three day weekend!
