We're off to a great start! Thank you for a great first two days of school. I'm excited for all that is to come.
As we discussed in class, the bulk of this week - spanning Monday-Thursday - will be devoted to our traditional beginning-of-the-year monologues performances in all periods. In the process, you will also receive information regarding the upcoming auditions for our first drama department production of the year (likely on Wednesday).
Here's what you can expect in class for the remainder of the week:
DRAMA 1
Once monologue performances are complete, we'll begin searching for film and TV scenes. I'll provide you with websites you may peruse for scripts, and you'll be allowed to use your mobile devices. Once your scene has been selected and approved, you'll be able to begin rehearsing.
DRAMA 2
Once monologue performances are complete, you'll continue rehearsing the True West scene with your partner. Don't forget that your character free write is due on Wednesday!
DRAMA 4
Once monologue performances are complete, we'll hold our first roundtable review for potential audition monologue selections. Please make sure that you have multiple options available no later than Thursday. Also, please remember that your first college research presentations will occur early into the week of 8/12, so you'll want to be ready by Monday of that week.
Have a great week, everybody!
