We're approaching our first three-day weekend of the school year!
The fall PTSA open house will be held this Tuesday, 8/27 starting at 6 pm. I'll be on hand to meet with parents and discuss details of what we're working on in class.
Also, this Wednesday, 8/28 will be an early release day for students. All students will be dismissed at approximately 11:30 am. Please plan accordingly in terms of transportation.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
We'll spend the entire week continuing the process of taping your film/TV scenes and reviewing the footage in class. As a reminder: if you have not yet taped your scene, you should be arriving to class every day with your lines memorized and two hard copies of your script. When you are not acting in a scene, you will continue serving on the camera crew for other students' scenes. I will also be providing you with material for our first round of mock film/TV auditions, which we'll be conducting in class next week.
DRAMA 2
We'll start the week with final performances of the full "True West" scene. Once all performances have been completed, we'll move on to our unit on children's theater. Starting on Thursday, please bring a favorite children's book to present to the class (this exercise is not for a grade, so if for any reason you don't still have access to a children's book, you do not need to purchase anything for class).
DRAMA 4
On Monday, you'll perform your first class monologue. We'll then spend the remainder of the week concluding the first round and beginning the second round of college research presentations. Please have your second school ready to present by Tuesday, and make sure you have access to your presentation either in your email, on a flash drive or both.
Have a great week, everybody, and a fun, safe Labor Day weekend!
