INTRO:
This week will be devoted to finding and rehearsing monologues, both for your in-class monologues and for juries (for all non-seniors). You'll be allowed to search for monologues on Monday and Tuesday using the plays available in my classroom (and yes, you may use your mobile devices these days, but you know how I feel about monologues you can find on the internet...). If you have already chosen your monologues you will simply be allowed additional valuable rehearsal time in class, as my hope is that by late in the week everyone has their monologues selected and you can start rehearsing in groups. We will also spend some time this week working on clean, professional slates (I have an exercise prepared for this and expect us to be ready to move on to this work by Wednesday).
DRAMA 3:
With our film and TV work now fully completed(!) we are turning our attention toward movement and physical theater. We got a head start on this work on the Friday before Spring Break but since so many students were absent, we'll review the basics of this work on Monday and get everyone up to speed. We will be exploring a variety of movement exercises all week (namely contact improvisation) with the exception of Wednesday, when you will have your weekly voice class with Ms. Cook. Due to the physical nature of this work, you will need to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes every day in order to participate.
Welcome back and have a great week!
