As you all know by now, I will be away from school Monday-Thursday of this week as I accompany a group of our seniors auditioning for collegiate acting and musical theater programs at the National Unified Auditions. Though I never like missing class, I take great pride in assisting our seniors with this process. Since this yearly event is a regular part of my schedule, I have planned accordingly so that my classes are able to continue completing meaningful work in my absence.
The second semester PTSA Open House will be held this Tuesday, 2/4, beginning with a meeting at 6:00 pm. Since I will be away at Unifieds I will be unable to attend, but I encourage parents to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
INTRO
Monday-Thursday of this week you will be splitting your time between multiple projects. You'll be allowed time to continue rehearsing your scenes, but you will also have time to search for monologues. Remember that you will need two monologues: one to perform in class and one for your jury in March (seniors are exempt from juries and will only need a class monologue). On Friday, we'll continue individual scene coaching sessions in preparation for final performances, which will be held the following week.
DRAMA 3
Monday-Thursday you'll be allowed to split your time between rehearsing your film/TV scene (if you have not already taped your scene in class), searching for jury monologues (juniors only) and preparing your mock film/TV audition material. On Friday we will tape your mock auditions in class.
Have a great week, everybody, and I wish our students all the best with their upcoming college auditions!
