As you know, this will be a short week due to the fact that we do not have class on Monday for MLK Day (incidentally, I strongly encourage you all to take some time on Monday to reflect on exactly why we observe this day). Below is your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
INTRO:
On Tuesday I will allow one more class period of rehearsal to put the finishing touches on your scenes. Please don't forget that your written script analysis assignment is due on Tuesday! Wednesday-Friday we'll see first performances of your scenes, and we'll be stopping to give feedback on each one as we go. Please make certain that you have your scenes completely memorized and blocked no later than Wednesday!
DRAMA 3:
We've finally started shooting your film/TV scenes! We'll finish work on our first scene on Tuesday and review the footage in class, and then we'll move on to our next scene. This will largely be our process going forward: shooting a scene with other students serving on the camera crew, and then reviewing the footage in class. From this point forward, please make sure that you are arriving to class every day with your lines memorized, your scenes blocked and two hard copies of yours script. Also, please remember that your written script analysis assignment is due on Tuesday! The one exception to this schedule will be Thursday of this week, when you will have a master class with a guest instructor (that class will be physical in nature so please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day).
Have a great week, everybody!
