Welcome back! I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving. We've made it to the home stretch for the semester and I hope you're all feeling rested and ready to finish strong.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
We will start the week by continuing our voice work (we will once again be utilizing the text from your theater scenes), but then we will transition into some movement exercises later in the week. The movement work will absolutely require that you bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes every day (I will remind you in class). We will also be screening your short films in class on Friday!
DRAMA 2
For the remainder of the semester we are turning our attention to work with classical texts. You'll have time in class at the beginning of the week to search for scenes (most of these scripts are public domain and therefore available online, so you'll be able to use your electronic devices for your scene search). Once everyone has selected scenes, you'll have the remainder of the week to rehearse. The one exception will be Wednesday in 4th block, when those students will have a master class with a guest instructor (don't forget you'll be performing your "rock star" assignment!).
DRAMA 4
We'll start out the week by venturing into the personalization exercise. You have nothing to prepare for this work - I have selected scenes for you and will provide you with them in class. Once we have finished the exercise (likely by Thursday) we'll move into a round of mock film/TV auditions (I'll be providing you with text for this work as well). We'll tape your auditions and then watch the footage in class, "casting" the roles via class vote.
Have a great week, everybody!
