I'd like to start by thanking you all for your hard work during the 1984 callback process. The talent in this program is truly overwhelming, and it is always such a pleasure to see you do what you love. Regardless of how the casting process plays out (and casting will be exceptionally difficult), you should all feel proud of your work.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
We'll continue individual scene coaching sessions Monday-Wednesday of this week. Once all scenes have been coached, you'll have the remainder of the week to rehearse with your partner(s) in advance of final scene performances the following week. Keep in mind that I will be looking to see that you are applying the notes and direction you received during your first performance and coaching session to your final performance.
DRAMA 2
On Monday we'll review any remaining first drafts of your student-written monologues, and you'll also have some time in class to make revisions. On Tuesday and Wednesday you'll have time to rehearse the monologue that was written for you (keeping in mind that you may also discuss details of the monologue with the writer), and we'll see performances of those monologues on Thursday and Friday.
DRAMA 4
Monday-Thursday we'll see first performances of your stretch material scenes. Once all first performances have been completed, we'll begin the process of individual scene coaching sessions.
Have a great week, everybody!
