Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope you all had a restful break and happy holidays, and that you're feeling ready to get down to business.
We only have two days of school during this first week, but below is an outline nevertheless of what to expect in class during these first two days of classes:
INTRO:
We'll start with class introductions on Thursday, and then we'll venture into some exercises which demonstrate the importance of understanding a character's given circumstances. Those exercises will lead us into the process of selecting scenes, which you will begin rehearsing in class soon (you will also be submitting a written script analysis assignment for your scene...stay tuned).
DRAMA 3:
We'll kick things off with an introduction to on-set key terms and personnel. It will probably take us the first two days to get through that process, but we'll be laying the groundwork for the film/TV work we'll be doing for much of this semester. We will also spend some time discussing the scene selection process, for which you will have a great deal of freedom in choosing an existing film/TV scene to prepare and perform in class.
I'm excited to be working with you all! Have a great first couple of days, everybody!
