As you all know, I posted the callback list for our upcoming performance of 1984 last week. While I congratulate the students who received callbacks, I'd like to urge those students who didn't receive callbacks not to be discouraged. For most of you - if you weren't called back - it had more to do with line memorization than anything else, and that is correctable. For others, I felt that this production is coming too early in your training and I'd like to see you develop more before putting you into the callback environment. For all of you: I encourage you to keep putting yourselves out there. You learn and grow with each audition experience, regardless of the outcome.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
On Monday and Tuesday you will continue taping your short films. All in-class taping should be completed by the end of first block on Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday you will rehearse your theater scenes, and then we'll begin first performances of those scenes on Friday.
DRAMA 2
You'll rehearse your "clown dances" on Monday and then performances will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. You'll have the remainder of the week to construct and rehearse your clown shows!
DRAMA 4
We'll conclude any remaining college research presentations at the top of class on Monday, and then you'll have the remainder of that period and all of class on Tuesday to rehearse for final performances of all four class monologues, which will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday you will search for/rehearse your "stretch material" scenes.
Have a great week, everybody!
