I'd like to start by saying how impressed I was by the work I saw in the auditions for 1984. There were so many strong and well-prepared auditions, and the turnout was outstanding as well. I'm extremely proud of you all, and casting this show will be difficult - to say the least.
This week, the PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, 10/16. As a result, there will be no 1st or 2nd block classes that day.
Here's you're weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
This week will be entirely devoted to working on your short films. You'll meet in groups on Monday to start writing your scripts, and by Tuesday you should be able to start taping. We won't have class together on Wednesday due to the PSAT, and then you'll continue taping on Thursday and Friday.
DRAMA 2
We'll hold performances of your clowning "impossible tasks" on Monday and Tuesday, and then you'll begin working on your clown dances! You'll have in-class time to rehearse on Wednesday and Thursday (though 2nd block won't meet together on Wednesday due to the PSAT) and then we'll begin performances on Friday in 4th block (2nd block will receive additional rehearsal time on Friday since they'll be a day behind).
DRAMA 4
Monday-Thursday will be devoted to completing your FINAL round of college research presentations! On Friday, you'll perform your fourth class monologue. Don't forget that the following week we'll be having final performances of all four of your monologues, so I advise you all to start preparing now!
Have a great week, everybody!
