We're off to a great start! It would seem that most of our scheduling issues have been resolved, and all classes are now working on their first projects.
On Monday, all classes will begin our traditional beginning-of-the-year monologue performances. We'll take a brief detour from this work on Tuesday, when Mr. Adams will present audition material for our upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet, and then we'll resume monologue performances. I suspect it will take us until Thursday to complete all performances and then we'll resume our regularly-scheduled activities as follows:
DRAMA 1
Now that we have covered key terms and on-set personnel, we'll start searching for scenes. We'll be looking for material online, so you will be able to use your mobile devices in class. Once you have found your scene, you'll be able to start rehearsing, and then we'll begin shooting scenes the following week! You'll also receive a written script analysis assignment.
DRAMA 2
You'll be allowed a little more in-class rehearsal time with the True West scene, and then we'll begin performances of the first half of the scene (through Lee's line "that he's running out of gas"). Remember that your character free write is due on Wednesday!
DRAMA 3
We'll wrap up the scene selection process and begin/continue rehearsing, with the plan being to start shooting our first scene either late this week or early next (depending on how long it takes us to complete monologue performances). You will also receive a written script analysis assignment.
DRAMA 4
We will continue reviewing monologue selections in class (please make sure that you have numerous options to present in class). Also, don't forget that your first college research document will be due next week!
Have a great week, everybody!
