By now you all probably have a pretty good feel for what we're working on in our current class units but as always, here's a quick look at what we'll be doing in class this week:
DRAMA 1
On Monday, we will shoot the final angle on our current film scene and we will have time to review all the footage on the projector and provide feedback. We will continue shooting scenes and reviewing footage throughout the week, and we will also continue to include a vocal warm-up in our work. As a reminder, at this point every student in class should have his/her lines memorized.
DRAMA 2
As we discussed on Friday, you will be allowed the first half of the class on Monday to rehearse the True West scene with your rehearsal partner, and then we will start seeing final performances in class. With 17 scenes to see, I suspect this entire week will be devoted to viewing final performances and providing feedback. Once those performances are completed, we'll move on to children's theater/clowning earlier than expected!
DRAMA 3
On Monday we will start shooting the film scene we blocked on Friday, and we will then review the footage on the projector and provide feedback. As a reminder, at this point every student in class should have his/her lines memorized. The typical flow of our class throughout our film/TV work will be shooting a new scene and then reviewing the footage, though there will be exceptions. This Wednesday (and most, if not all Wednesdays), you will have voice class with Ms. Cook, so please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day. We will also soon be starting our filmmaking PBL with Mr. Sager's class, and we will be taking a break from our in-class film/TV work when that project begins. We're still hammering out the details for that so stay tuned...
DRAMA 4
Monday will be our last day for this round of reviewing monologue selections, so if you haven't presented at least two monologue choices this round, please have them ready to go on Monday. Tuesday-Thursday will be devoted to our second round of college research presentations, so please be prepared to present a second school from your list on Tuesday. On Friday we will hopefully be able to finalize monologue selections and start moving toward in-class performances. As we've discussed in class, those performances will come up quickly, so if you haven't already started learning lines for your approved monologues you should get started right away!
Have a great week!
