With callbacks and beginning-of-the-year monologue performances now completed (except for callbacks in 3rd block), we will move on with our regularly-scheduled programming in all classes. Here's your weekly outline of what you can expect.
DRAMA 1 and DRAMA 3
In both of these classes, we will proceed with shooting our film/TV scenes. At this point, all students should be arriving to class every day with their lines memorized, their scenes blocked and two hard copies of their script. We'll be taping scenes one at a time and reviewing the footage in class as we go. Also, don't forget that your written script analysis assignment is due on Tuesday!
DRAMA 2
We'll wrap up performances of the first half of the True West scene, and then you'll be allowed rehearsal time to prepare for final performances of the full scene. I encourage you not to wait to start memorizing the full scene. Depending on how long it takes to complete first performances, we'll begin final performances either late this week or early next week.
DRAMA 4
Once callbacks are finished on Monday, we'll start the week by wrapping up round one of your college research presentations. We'll then turn our attention back to monologue selections, so please make sure that you are bringing options to review in class. You should also be preparing your approved monologues, as we will have our first round of performances next week (the week of 8/27) and you can expect some rehearsal time on Friday to prepare.
Have a great week, everybody!
