The end of the school year is drawing near! We have some big events this week, with both prom and the changing of the chairs ceremony on Friday. Let's continue with our plan to finish the year strong!
I want to give a special shout out to Drama 1 for there outstanding performances last Wednesday. I couldn't be more proud of your work!
As always, here's a quick glimpse at what we'll be doing in class this week:
DRAMA 1
We're now off and running with our movement work, so don't forget to bring/wear clothes that will allow you to comfortably move. We'll delve deeper into movement exercises Monday-Wednesday of this week. As you may know, Mr. Adams and I read the names of our seniors at the changing of the chairs ceremony (and graduation) and we will be having a rehearsal for changing of the chairs on Thursday and then the actual ceremony on Friday. I suggest that you use that time to work on jury monologues!
DRAMA 2
We will continue with our in-class coaching work on your pieces of classical texts. I realize that this work, although necessary, can get a little monotonous, so I'll be throwing in some new activities to keep everyone involved. Our focus this week will be entirely on your classical texts with the exception of Wednesday in 2nd block when you will have your usual voice class with Ms. Cook (please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day).
DRAMA 3
We're nearing the end of our film/TV work. On Monday we'll finish the scene we started on Friday and we will also review the footage and provide feedback. Between Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, we should be able to finish shooting and reviewing our final scenes, meaning we'll be moving on to our movement work next week. As always, you'll have voice class with Ms. Cook on Wednesday, so please bring/wear comfortable dress clothes that day.
DRAMA 4 (Wednesday Only)
I'm prepared to play this week by ear. I'd love to continue with our film/TV work, but I know you're all anxious to get extra rehearsal time on your D4 projects. If we have a scene pair that is ready to shoot and we have the time, we'll go ahead with that work this week. However, if we find that extra rehearsal time is required for your projects, I will allow you to use the period to work in your groups.
Have a great week, everyone!
