DRAMA 1
This week will be entirely devoted to taping our remaining scenes and reviewing the footage from those scenes. We'll get to venture into multi-camera sitcom this week for the first time, which will be a lot of fun. We're nearing the completion of your film and TV scenes, meaning we should be finishing up next week and moving on to commercials. Remember that you will be performing two commercials: the one you chose from the list provided in class and one you will be writing yourself. It is not too early to be preparing both assignments!
DRAMA 2
This week we will be focusing on rehearsing your children's theater scenes in class. We will work through them one-by-one, and I will be providing direction along with our student directors. This will be the focus of class every day this week, with the exception of 2nd block on Wednesday when Ms. Cook will be leading a voice class (please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day). At this point your scenes should be blocked and your lines should be memorized.
DRAMA 4
Monday will be your last day of in-class rehearsal time for your theater scenes. On Tuesday, everyone in the class will perform first presentations of scenes, fully-staged and off-book. Please remember that your written script analysis assignment will also be due on Tuesday. Wednesday-Friday, we will work through scenes in class one-by-one at a rate of about two scenes per day, meaning that individual scene work will continue into next week. After we're finished working through scenes, the goal is to provide you with more rehearsal time to incorporate notes/direction from you work session in preparation for final scene performances.
Finally, now that Showcase has closed (great job, everyone!) I am available for college audition coaching sessions and pre-screen audition tapings before AND after school, so please see me to make an appointment or email me at [email protected]. These sessions/tapings are available to ALL CCCEPA seniors, not just those enrolled in my classes. For that matter, any of my students who feel they could use more help grasping the concepts we discuss in class, regardless of whether or not they intend to audition for BFA programs, may also schedule one of these appointment times with me.
