DRAMA 1
We are now underway with taping our film and TV scenes, so we will be taping scenes and reviewing footage Tuesday-Friday. We have two scenes currently in-progress and the plan is to first complete those two scenes, but as you've seen, our shooting schedule changes if students are late or absent, so ALL students should have their lines memorized, ready to shoot their scenes by Tuesday.
DRAMA 2
2nd Block: You will be presenting another round of "impossible tasks" on Tuesday, so don't forget to have those prepared. On Wednesday you'll have another voice class with our incredible guest instructor Ms. Cook, so as always, please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day. Thursday and Friday will be devoted to further clown exercises (another round of clown dances is yet to come!).
4th Block: On Tuesday, we'll finish exploring the various clown styles, and we'll finally begin work on our clown dances, as many of you witnessed 2nd block's performances in 5th period on Friday. You'll be allowed the entire period on Wednesday to rehearse. You'll present your dances on Thursday (continuing on Friday, if necessary) and then we'll move on to another round of "impossible tasks" on Friday, though I'm prepared to push this to next Monday if we need extra time for dance performances.
DRAMA 4
We will begin work on the "personalization exercise" on Tuesday. As you know, I've assigned scene pairings and am also in charge of selecting scenes, so this exercise requires no preparation on your part, only that you arrive to class focused and ready to work. Wednesday you'll present your 4th and final monologue, fully memorized and prepared. On Thursday we'll continue the personalization work, and then on Friday we'll have another three station class in conjunction with Drama 3, with Mr. Adams coaching classical monologues, Mr. D'Haviland coaching songs and me coaching contemporary monologues.
Reminder #1: Tickets for Metamorphoses are on sale now, and I'd love for you to attend if possible. I think this will be a very cool show, and I'm proud of the work I've seen so far. Performances are October 23-25 at 7:30 and October 26 at 3:00.
Reminder #2: The University of Southern California will be visiting us this Wednesday, October 15 to lead a master class starting at 6:30. Most, if not all of the students who participated last year RAVED about the experience, so I strongly encourage you to attend if possible. You have to register for the class in advance online, which you may do by going here:
