I'd like to start by saying how impressed I am by your response to the assignments you've been provided. My inbox has been exploding with videos, papers and questions, and that is a testament to your work ethic. I couldn't be more proud and I encourage you to keep it up. That being said, it is taking me quite awhile to review all of your work! I've now watched more than half of your jury videos but I still have quite a few videos and essays to review. If you haven't received a confirmation from me yet: sit tight. I promise I'm reviewing your work carefully and responding to things as fast as I can.
Below are your assignments for the day. They include the link for underclassmen to submit their jury "remote interview" responses, as well as a new assignment especially for seniors.
ASSIGNMENTS
FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS:
Yesterday, we provided you with a series of questions for which we would like you to provide written responses in place of your in-person jury interview. Once you have final drafts of your answers, please provide them at the link below:

SENIORS
As we wrap up the jury process for underclassmen, we continue to recognize that our seniors are in a unique position. We are aware that you would typically be in a holding pattern if juries were being held at school. Given these unprecedented circumstances, however, having you simply stand by and observe while we conclude the process is simply not an option. While examining ways to utilize your time in a meaningful way, we noticed that most of you have something in common: most of you have taken on-camera acting with Mr. Dogias.
With that in mind, we’d like you to write an analysis of a film or television series of your choosing. You may write about something you’ve recently watched or are currently watching. You may also use this as an excuse to go back and watch a favorite film again, or to watch something new to you. Even if you are one of the seniors who hasn’t taken film/TV acting at CCCEPA, you are equipped with the knowledge to effectively critique acting.
In your analysis, you may focus on any/all of the following aspects, as you feel comfortable based on your level of training:
-The Acting – who delivers strong performances? Who doesn’t? Give specific examples.
-The Cinematography – what do you notice about the shots used? Are there long, continuous shots? Many cuts? What types of shots do you see the most?
-The Plot Structure – What do you notice about the way the story is told? What stands out to you about the writing?
-Style – is there anything unique about the style of the film or series? Describe it.
Your written analysis should be emailed to your current drama instructor by 4:15 pm on Friday, 3/20.
Let me know if you have questions.
Keep working hard, everybody!
