It's the last week before spring break! I know things look pretty different from your typical spring break, but we will NOT be having digital learning days next week (the week of 4/6) and it will still be nice for us all to have break from school work. I will not be assigning any work for you to complete that week - I think it is important for us to observe the break any way we can!
Thank you for all the work you submitted last week. Each of my classes had a taped assignment to submit, and I am in the process of reviewing your work (and I am enjoying your work very much!). I've already gotten back to many of you with individual feedback. If you haven't heard from me yet, you will hear soon! If you experienced difficulties in turning in your assignment by Friday, please send it in as soon as possible.
As promised, I'll be holding Zoom sessions again on Monday. To join, go to zoom.us, register (if you haven't already), click "join a meeting" and then enter the Meeting ID I sent you via remind. These meetings are not mandatory, however I'll be available to answer questions about your current assignments and address any other concerns you may have. There are specific times for each period but if your meeting time conflicts with another class requirement, you may attend one of the other meeting times. The schedule is:
1st Period Intro - 1:30-2:00
2nd Period Intro - 2:00-2:30
Drama 3 - 2:30-3:00
4th Period Intro - 3:00-3:30
Here's what you'll be working on today:
INTRO:
Via Remind, I have sent you all some reading material in a PDF (please email me if you did not receive it). On Monday, you should read the pages I've sent and start considering the script analysis on the last page. I'd like you to complete the assignment using either your class monologue, or a role from a play you've read if you prefer. I'd like you to email your completed analysis by 4:15 on Thursday, 4/2.
DRAMA 3:
Think back to the work we did earlier this semester on commercials. You've already taped mock auditions in class using the material I provided. Now, I'd like you to WRITE your own! You may choose an existing product (or a fictitious one) and write a 20-30 second commercial in the same style as the commercials we taped in class (looking straight into the lens, speaking to the audience at home). Your commercials are due by 4:15 on Thursday, 4/1, so I'd like you to use the coming days to write and rehearse your commercial.
As always, I'm available throughout the school day if you have questions or concerns via Remind and email, and can also schedule additional Zoom sessions if necessary.
Have a great day, everybody!
