We have an exciting week ahead of us! First of all, our fall drama department production of 12 Angry Jurors performs this weekend! Performances are September 23 and 24 at 7:30 and September 24 and 25 at 3:00. It's also the last week of classes before fall break, and we will ALSO be taping college pre-screen auditions for many of our seniors who are auditioning for BFA acting and musical theater programs. However, because of these taping sessions - which occur in class - the exact schedule for this week is slightly difficult to project. We know for certain that we will be taping on Monday in all classes, however we are not yet sure if a second day will be necessary, or if that second day would occur on Tuesday or later in the week. Below, you will find a subject-to-change outline of the planned activities in class this week. I appreciate your flexibility as we offer an extremely valuable service to our seniors.
DRAMA 1:
On Monday and Tuesday you will be allowed time to search for theater scenes as we transition out of our film and TV work. You may use the plays and scene books available in my classroom and you are also encouraged to bring books from home. On Wednesday we will review the footage from our FINAL film/TV scene (hooray!) and then we will finish up the scene selection process. On Thursday and Friday you will rehearse your scene with your partner.
DRAMA 2:
On Monday and Tuesday you will be allowed time to rehearse your children's theater pieces in your groups. We will hold in-class, individual rehearsal on Wednesday and Friday, and I would like for everyone to have their lines memorized for those rehearsal days. On Thursday, 2nd block will have a guest-taught master class and 4th block will begin work on the script for our PBL with Ms. Litowich's orchestra class!
DRAMA 4:
We will start the week by seeing the remaining performances from this round of monologues, which started on Friday. We will then move back into reviewing monologue selections and presenting round 3 of college research. Please have your third research document ready to present in class by Tuesday of this week, and if you do not yet have your full list of approved monologues, please have material prepared to read in class by Tuesday as well. This work should take us to the end of the week, and you will not have another round of performances until the week after fall break!
I hope you all have a great week and a fun, relaxing, exciting, safe break!
Break a leg, cast and crew of 12 Angry Jurors!
