Thank you for a great first week! We've already seen fantastic work in all classes and it is obvious that the drama department is packed with talent and in great shape.
As you all know by now, we will be combining with Mr. Adams' classes in all periods on Monday to discuss The Arabian Nights and review the audition material. We will also see any remaining beginning-of-the-year monologue performances that day. Here's a look at what to expect in class for the remainder of the week:
DRAMA 1
On Tuesday we will conclude our introduction to film/TV terminology and personnel. We will then choose scene partners and begin searching for scenes. You will be allowed to use your mobile devices (shocking, I know) to search for scenes in class. I would like everyone to have a scene chosen by the end of class on Thursday, and then you will rehearse with your partner(s) for the remainder of the week.
DRAMA 2
On Tuesday and Wednesday you will be allowed in-class rehearsal time to work with your partner on the True West scene. We will see performances of the first half of the scene on Thursday and Friday, so please make sure you have the first half of the scene memorized and prepared by Thursday. Also, remember that your one-page free write is due on Tuesday!
DRAMA 4
Tuesday-Thursday of this week we will be reviewing potential monologue selections. Remember that you will ultimately need four approved monologues for this class, so everyone should have multiple options to review beginning on Tuesday. On Friday we'll shift gears into our first round of college research presentations. A blank, electronic copy of the research document is available for download in the blog post which immediately precedes this one.
Have a great week, everybody!
