This promises to be a busy week! The first round of auditions for the fall drama department production of "12 Angry Jurors" will be held this Monday, 8/15 after school (audition times are located on Mr. Adams' Blog: https://cccepaadams.wordpress.com/twelve-angry-jurors/). Callbacks will be held in class in all periods later in the week but at last check, Mr. Adams was uncertain as to whether those callbacks would begin on Wednesday or Thursday. As a result, the following outline of activities this week is somewhat subject to change:
DRAMA 1:
On Monday we will see any remaining beginning-of-the-year monologues and then we'll take a final look at scene selections and begin rehearsing your film/TV scenes. You will definitely have rehearsal time in class on Monday and Tuesday, and I'd like everyone to plan on shooting our first scene on Wednesday. Callbacks in this period will likely last for two days, so either they will occur on Thursday and Friday or they will begin on Wednesday, in which case we will start shooting our first scene on Friday instead. After Tuesday, all students should have their scenes memorized and blocked. Also, don't forget that your written script analysis is due on Wednesday!
DRAMA 2:
On Monday we will see any remaining beginning-of-the-year monologues and then we'll resume performances of the first half of the True West scene. Those performances will continue until callbacks begin (either Wednesday or Thursday) and will resume once callbacks are completed. Also, don't forget that your given circumstances free-write assignment is due on Wednesday!
DRAMA 4:
There are still quite a few beginning-of-the-year monologue performances to see in this period - particularly in Drama 3 - so those performances will likely comprise the bulk of class on Monday. We will then begin reviewing monologue selections until callbacks begin (either Wednesday or Thursday). I suspect that callbacks will continue at least through the end of the week in this period but just in case there is a schedule change, I'd like everyone prepared to present their first college research assignment on Thursday (though those presentations may end up having to wait until the early part of the following week).
Have a great week, everyone, and I wish many broken legs to all who are auditioning!
