This promises to be a busy week, as auditions for our fall drama department production of The Arabian Nights will be held after school this Monday, 8/14, with callbacks to follow in class. In addition, each class is working on projects which will continue this week as well. Here's a look at what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
You will continue rehearsing your film/TV scenes on Monday, and then callbacks will occur in class on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday you'll finish rehearsing/blocking your scenes and then we'll start shooting our first scene in class! Don't forget that your written script analysis assignment is due this week, however I have decided to extend the due date from Tuesday to Thursday (you're welcome!).
DRAMA 2
On Monday we will continue - and perhaps conclude - performances of the first half of the True West scene, and if time permits you will be allowed time to start rehearsing the full scene. Callbacks will be held in class on Tuesday and Wednesday in both periods, and then you'll rehearse the full scene on Thursday. Depending on the progress of the class (and how long it takes to complete first performances) we may begin performances of the full scene on Friday or I will provide additional rehearsal time if necessary.
DRAMA 4
On Monday we will continue our first round of college research presentations. I suspect that callbacks will take three days in this period - Tuesday-Thursday - and then we will finish this round of research presentations on Friday. Please make sure you're using this time to stack up potential monologue selections, as we will spend the bulk of the following week reviewing your options in class.
Have a great week, everybody, and break legs in your auditions!
