As I mentioned in class, I have an obligation that will require me to be away from school this Monday. However, with all intro students needing time to search through the plays in my classroom to find monologues for our next unit (and all non-seniors also needing to find monologues for juries) and with Ms Cook needing to reschedule her typical Wednesday voice class in Drama 3 for this Monday instead, all classes will be able to continue working without missing a beat! Here's a look at the plan in each class for this week:
INTRO:
On Monday you will be allowed time to search for monologues for use in our upcoming monologue unit, as well as for juries. Remember that you should only be using hard copy texts for this exercise rather than internet sources. On Tuesday and Thursday we will be joining with Ms. Edwards' dance classes for our "Dance in Film" PBL. Wednesday and Friday will be devoted to continuing our work on contact improvisation and many of you will be adding text work to the process, so please make sure you review your lines for whichever scene/monologue you may wish to use (you may use your scenes from earlier in the semester or monologues you may have used for voice work earlier this unit) and please make sure you bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes Wednesday and Friday.
DRAMA 3:
As I mentioned above, you will have your weekly voice class with Ms. Cook on Monday of this week rather than Wednesday, so please be sure to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day. On Tuesday and Thursday we will join with Ms. Edwards' dance class for work on the "Dance in Film" PBL. On Wednesday and Friday we will tape scenes and review footage (preferably starting with our multi-camera sitcom scene on Wednesday) so if yours is one of the few scenes remaining to be taped, please be sure to arrive to class with your lines memorized, scenes blocked and two hard copies of your script.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of The Pirates of Penzance on a terrific show!
Have a great week, everybody!
