Exciting times are ahead! We're only two weeks away from spring break, and drama juries will be held in class for all freshmen, sophomores and juniors next week (Monday, 3/27-Wednesday, 3/29). Hopefully you've all found monologues by now and you're feeling prepared. I'm looking forward to seeing your work!
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
INTRO:
We fell a day behind last week's schedule in favor of a day of jury monologue preparation, but hopefully you were able to use that time to your advantage. As a result, we will see any remaining movement pieces on Monday, and then we will move squarely into voice work. We'll be developing a vocal warm-up which we'll do every day during this portion of the class, and I'll be introducing you to some very cool voice training techniques. This work is very physical in nature, so you will need to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes every day this week.
DRAMA 3:
We're nearing the end of our film/TV scene work! With that in mind, we'll keep our noses to the grindstone Monday-Thursday of this week and continue shooting scenes and reviewing footage. With only a few scenes left to shoot, please make sure that you are arriving to class every day with your lines memorized, scenes blocked and two hard copies of your script. We'll shift gears on Friday to start working on commercials. We'll discuss commercial auditioning and I will provide you with mock commercial audition material, which you will present the following week (after juries).
Have a great week, everybody!
