DRAMA 1
There may be some remaining callbacks on Tuesday but beyond that, we will spend the rest of the week turning our attention squarely back on our voice exercises and monologue work. Again, if you have not yet performed your monologue in class, please be ready to go this week. Also, please do not forget to dress out for our voice exercises (some of you have been forgetting lately!).
DRAMA 2
Once callbacks are completed, we will spend the remainder of the week returning to the work we are doing with the monologues you are writing for each other. We still need to hear first drafts from about half of each class. Once those are completed, you will be allowed time in class to either work on re-writes or begin rehearsing, depending on where you are in the process. The goal is to be able to start seeing some preliminary (not necessarily memorized) performances on Friday. 2nd block: don't forget you'll have voice class with Ms. Cook on Friday, so please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day.
DRAMA 3
Because of the higher concentration of Julius Caesar callbacks in 3rd block, auditions in this class will likely continue through Tuesday. On Wednesday, you'll have voice class with Ms. Cook, so please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day. On Thursday and Friday, we will meet again with Mr. Sager's class to continue work on your film projects. Reminder: your storyboards are due on Friday.
DRAMA 4 (Wednesday Only)
We will FINALLY have the opportunity to finish shooting the scene we started during our last film/TV class, and we should also have time to review the footage and provide feedback. We will then discuss our upcoming shooting schedule.
A few things worth noting:
This is the last week of a grading period, and there are numerous students whose grades could be noticeably higher if they submitted make-up work following absences. Remember that points are deducted from the bi-weekly "Rehearsal/Ensemble" grade any day that you are absent and unable to participate in class exercises, but the points may be easily made-up by submitting short written make-up assignments. I'd like to see more of you taking advantage of the make-up opportunity. Please see me for writing topics.
I was honored to accompany Mr. Timmerman and 17 of our CCCEPA seniors to the Unified Auditions in Chicago last week, where our students auditioned for countless BFA acting and musical theater programs. Some of our students were accepted on-the-spot to some of the most competitive programs in the country, and I heard positive reports from most, if not all of the students on the trip. I couldn't be more proud of our students for their hard work and preparation.
If you need any coaching for other upcoming college auditions or if you need any other extra help outside of class, please feel free to schedule morning or afternoon sessions with me before or after school. With the unified auditions now completed, I have increased availability. You can schedule times with me in-person or via email at [email protected].
