We did a great job of getting right back down to business last week following our winter break. Thank you all for your focus and hard work. Here's a look at what we'll be doing in class this week:
INTRO:
We'll continue our vocal warm-ups and voice training exercises Monday-Wednesday of this week, so you'll definitely want to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes each of those days. On Thursday and Friday, we'll continue the warm-ups but we'll shift the focus of our voice work to text. As we discussed in class, it might be a good idea to refresh your memory of the lines from the scenes you performed earlier this semester. If you and your original scene partner(s) have decided to select a new scene or perform monologues instead, please make sure that those lines are well-memorized by Thursday.
DRAMA 3:
On Monday we'll shoot our next film/TV scene, so if you have not yet taped your scene in class I will remind you that you should have your scenes blocked, lines memorized and arrive to class with two hard copies of your script. We'll review the footage from that scene on Tuesday and provide feedback, but then we'll briefly shift gears to commercial auditioning. You'll be assigned mock audition material and allowed rehearsal time at the end of class that day. On Wednesday you'll have your weekly voice class with Ms. Cook, so please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day. On Thursday we'll tape your mock commercial auditions and then we'll review that footage on Friday and "cast" the roles via class vote, much like we did with your mock film/TV auditions.
Finally, good luck to all of our dance students traveling to the dance festival this week!
