INTRO:
On Monday we'll continue seeing first performances of scenes, and I suspect it will take us until Tuesday to conclude this round of performances. You will then be allowed rehearsal time on Wednesday and Thursday to incorporate the notes and direction you received during your initial performance. On Friday we'll begin individual coaching sessions in class, and that work will likely take us through the following week. If you were shaky on your lines during your first performance, please make sure you are studying your lines at home. If you are unable to meet with your partner(s) outside of school, I strongly encourage you to run lines over the phone, FaceTime, Skype, etc. The extra rehearsal time is worth it!
DRAMA 3:
Since so many of you will be missing from class on Monday due to the field trip to the Cobb Civic Center, I have decided to delay shooting our first scene by a day so that you can all be there as we venture for the first time into shooting a film/TV scene. That means that those of you who are in class on Monday will be allowed one more class period to rehearse, memorize your lines and/or complete your written script analysis assignment. Speaking of which, don't forget that your written script analysis is due this Tuesday! On Tuesday we'll assign camera crew positions and start shooting our first film/TV scene. As I mentioned in class, we'll move fairly slowly through our first scene but then pick up the pace once we've covered the basics. Also, by Tuesday everyone should be ready to shoot and should be arriving to class with lines memorized and two hard copies of your script. On Wednesday you'll have voice class with Ms.Cook (please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day) and on Thursday we'll finish shooting our first scene and review the footage in class, providing feedback. On Friday we will move on to our second scene.
Good luck this week to the cast and crew of All Shook Up! For those of you not in/working on the show, performances are this Thursday-Sunday at the Jennie T. Anderson Theater, and I hope you all can attend. Tickets can be purchased online at cccepa.com.
Have a great week, everyone!
