Happy Halloween!
Here is your weekly outline of what to expect in this ghoulish week of classes:
DRAMA 1
We will begin the week by completing individual coaching sessions of your theater scenes. Once we have finished this process, you will be allowed two class periods to rehearse your scenes while focusing on applying the notes and direction from your coaching sessions. We will then begin final performances of your theater scenes late in the week (Thursday or Friday, depending on when we finish our coaching sessions).
DRAMA 2
4th period D2 will rehearse their clown shows and then we will see those performances in class on Tuesday. 2nd period is running a little ahead, so on Monday we will begin the process of writing monologues for specific actors (2nd period will begin this process later in the week). We'll start by discussing the creative writing process and get into the specifics of the monologue writing assignment, and then you will be allowed time in class to write. We will review drafts in class and you'll have some time to make revisions. Once final drafts are completed, you'll begin rehearsing and memorizing your monologues. The one exception to this schedule will be Wednesday in 2nd block, when you will have a master class with a guest instructor (you may wish to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day). Also, great job on your children's theater performances! I'm very proud!
DRAMA 4
I've decided to give you one extra day of rehearsal on your stretch material scenes, which will be Monday. On Tuesday we'll begin 1st performances of your scenes. We should be able to finish those first performances by the end of class on Wednesday, and then we'll delve into individual scene coaching sessions for the remainder of the week.
Have a great week, everybody! Eat lots of candy!
