First, I just want to say that I am very proud of all of you who auditioned for Much Ado About Nothing. I know that Shakespeare can sometimes be daunting - especially if you don't have any prior experience - and I was so pleased that so many of you came out to the auditions. I saw some very good work! If you did not receive a callback, please don't be discouraged. The casting process at PHS is ultra-competitive, and there were a great many students who gave impressive auditions for whom I wasn't able to make room in the callback process.
This week we'll be holding callbacks for Much Ado About Nothing in all drama classes on Monday and Tuesday. I also suspect those callbacks will continue on Thursday during third block, due to the high volume of auditions during that period. If you were called back for the production but are not currently enrolled in a drama class, I will make arrangements with your other PA teacher(s) for you to audition during class.
Also, please note that this Wednesday, 10/19, The PSAT will be administered to sophomores and some juniors, and as a result we will not be meeting on a normal class schedule. Only second period classes will be meeting that day.
Here's a quick glance at everything else that will be happening in class this week:
DRAMA 1:
With callbacks occurring on Monday and Tuesday and no class on Wednesday, we will continue scene coaching sessions on Thursday and Friday, and we will also see our one remaining first performance if possible on either of those days.
DRAMA 2:
Callbacks will occur in both periods on Monday and Tuesday, and then in 2nd block on Wednesday we will continue with some clowning exercises (4th block will not meet on Wednesday). 2nd block will move back to children's theater work on Thursday and will have a guest class with Ms. Fischer on Friday (adjusted schedule this week due to the PSAT. Please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes on Friday), while 4th block will rehearse and then perform clown dances on Thursday and Friday.
DRAMA 4:
With callbacks occurring in class on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and no class on Wednesday, our only regular day of class this week will be Friday, when we will begin our next round of college research presentations. Please be prepared to present your 4th school by Friday.
Have a great week, everyone!
