As you know by now, I will be spending Monday and Tuesday of next week taping pre-screen auditions for our seniors who are applying to collegiate acting and musical theater programs. Fortunately, these two days have been in the works since before the start of the school year, so I have planned accordingly for you all to have projects to work on independently during these days.
Also, our production of The Arabian Nights runs this week! Performances are 9/22-9/24 (7:30 on 9/22 and 9/23 and 3:00 on 9/23 and 9/24) in the black box. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at cccepa.com. I'm very proud of the work our students are doing on this show and hope you'll come check it out!
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class:
DRAMA 1
On Monday and Tuesday you'll be allowed time to search the plays in my classroom for potential theater scenes, which we'll start working on when we finish our on-camera work. The rest of the week will be devoted to shooting our remaining film/TV scenes and reviewing the footage in class. As always, if you have not yet taped your scene in class please make sure that you are arriving to class every day with your lines memorized, scenes blocked and two hard copies of your script.
DRAMA 2
On Monday and Tuesday you will continue rehearsing your children's theater pieces in your groups. On Wednesday we will start first performances of your finished pieces, and then you'll have any remaining time this week to start preparing for final performances.
DRAMA 4
You will be allowed time on Monday and Tuesday to rehearse approved monologue selections, and to continue searching for monologues (if applicable). On Wednesday you will present performances of your second monologue, and then on Thursday and Friday we'll begin our third (and final) full round of college research presentations.
It's the last week before fall break! Have a great week of classes and then a fun and relaxing week off!
