The first six weeks of the semester are already in the books! Progress reports will be coming out this week. If you have questions or concerns about your grade in my class, please feel free to contact me or arrange a time to speak with me in person. Remember that if your rehearsal/ensemble grade is low due to absences you can regain the lost points for excused absences by submitting make-up work.
Here's your weekly outline of what to expect in class for the coming week:
DRAMA 1:
This week will be entirely devoted to shooting and reviewing our remaining film/TV scenes. If you have not yet taped your scene in class, please make sure that your scenes are memorized and blocked, and that you're arriving to class with two hard copies of your script. Those of you who have already taped your scene in class will continue to serve as members of the camera crew for our remaining scenes.
DRAMA 2:
This week will be entirely devoted to rehearsing your children's theater pieces. After receiving notes on your first drafts, you'll be allowed some time to make revisions at the beginning of the week, and then we'll work on each piece in class, mimicking the environment of a full-scale play rehearsal. Once revisions to your scripts are completed, please start memorizing your lines as soon as possible.
DRAMA 4:
On Monday we will finish any remaining presentations from our most recent round of college research presentations. We will then shift our attention back to monologue selection, so if you do not yet have all of your approved monologues, please make sure that you have options prepared to read in class Tuesday-Thursday. On Friday I'd like to hold our second round of monologue performances, so please have a second monologue memorized and ready to perform by then. Please also remember that your second college research document should be posted to our blog no later than the beginning of class on Tuesday. Looking ahead, round three of college research presentations will occur the following week, so it might be a good idea to go ahead and get prepared!
SENIORS AUDITIONING FOR BFA ACTING/MUSICAL THEATER PROGRAMS: If you have not yet scheduled monologue coaching sessions with me, I encourage you do to so ASAP. Remember that our in-class pre-screen tapings will occur 9/19 and 9/20, so the time to get ready is NOW!
Have a great week, everyone!
