DRAMA 1
Now that scenes have been selected, you will be given rehearsal time on Monday and Tuesday, in anticipation of our first scene presentations on Wednesday. All students in class will perform their scenes that day, and you will be expected to be off-book with your scenes blocked. Remember that your written scene analysis is due to me no later than Wednesday as well. On Thursday and Friday we will begin working through the scenes individually, likely at a rate of two or three scenes per day, so many of you will not perform your scenes a second time until the following week.
DRAMA 2
Monday we will finish up the scene selection process and hopefully have time to begin rehearsing. You will also be assigned a written scene analysis of your scripts. Tuesday will be devoted entirely to rehearsing your scenes. On Wednesday, Ms. Cook will be joining us again in 2nd block for voice class and I will be teaching voice in 4th block, so remember to bring comfortable dress-out clothes. Thursday we will continue rehearsing scenes in the hopes that the class can perform first presentations of scenes on Friday.
DRAMA 4
We will continue our college research discussion on Monday and Tuesday, examining the many remaining schools on our "big board" and determining which schools require additional research by the class. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will all be devoted to continuing our search for college audition material. If you have monologues which have already been approved, you should be memorizing/preparing them to perform in class. If you do not yet have four approved monologues (which I think applies to nearly everyone in class), you should be continuing your search and preparing to bring in new material on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Also, remember that once your monologues are memorized and ready to rehearse, you can schedule coaching time with me for 7:30am or 4:15pm any day, Monday-Friday. As a reminder, if you are one of the students in class who intend to audition BFA programs, you are required to attend no fewer than two coaching sessions with me, and hopefully you'll want to do more than that.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
