Only two more full weeks of classes remaining! The busy end of the school year continues this week, with one more night of juries on Tuesday, Drama 3 projects on Wednesday, Drama 4 projects on Thursday and a number of senior recitals in the vocal department this weekend. Wishing many broken legs to everyone performing and I hope to see a great student turnout at all of these events.
Here's a look at what we'll be doing in class this week:
INTRO:
With monologue coaching sessions now completed in first and second blocks, Monday and Tuesday will be devoted to in-class rehearsal time in preparation for final performances. Fourth block still has a day's worth of coaching session remaining, so we'll complete those on Monday and rehearsal time will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday in fourth. Final performances will run Wednesday and Thursday for first and second blocks (Thursday and Friday for fourth). As we've discussed in class, we are running just a bit ahead of schedule thanks to your hard work and focus, so once final performances are completed we'll have some time to re-visit our movement and voice exercises from earlier in the semester, using the text from your class monologues.
DRAMA 3:
On Monday you will have voice class with Ms. Cook. We will continue our other voice work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, however we will shift gears on Thursday back to the physical character building exercise we worked on last week (in order to provide an opportunity for those students who were absent much of last week for AP testing). As always, you will need to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes every day this week.
In all classes, we will also find some time this week to review for written final exams, which are fast approaching!
Have a great week, everybody!
