First, I want to let you all know that due to a schedule conflict, the "dance in film" PBL that Ms. Edwards and I have been planning needs to be pushed until next week. Not to worry! This will only allow us to begin movement work sooner in Intro and we'll be able to continue with our film/TV work in D3. Here's an outline of what we'll be doing in class each day this week:
INTRO:
On Monday we will complete our voice/text work, so if you have not yet performed please make sure your lines are completely memorized by Monday. On Tuesday we'll begin our foray into movement work. We'll begin with some basic exercises to emphasize the importance of balance and control, and our activities throughout the week will slowly build toward an exploration of contact improvisation. You will absolutely need to bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes every day Tuesday-Friday. Also, you will ultimately end up participating in another text exercise, so make sure you keep the lines fresh from the scenes/monologues that you performed during our voice work.
DRAMA 3:
On Monday we'll review the footage from our last film/TV scene and then we'll shoot the next scene. We'll follow the same schedule on Tuesday, however at the end of class on Tuesday you'll be assigned your one-line mock audition material. You'll have voice class with Ms. Cook on Wednesday (please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day) and then on Thursday we'll tape your mock auditions, review the footage and "cast" the role based on class vote. On Friday we'll resume our film/TV work with another scene. We're nearing the end of our scene work so as always, if you have not yet taped your scene in class please make sure that you are arriving to class with your lines memorized, scenes blocked and two hard copies of your script.
Break a leg to the cast and crew of The Pirates of Penzance! Shows are this Friday and Saturday (3/18 and 3/19) at 7:30 in the Reece Theater. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.cccepa.com.
Have a great week, everyone!
