It's hard to believe but there are only five more weeks of school left in the semester! And only two weeks until Thanksgiving break! Now that we've completed Fall Compositions, we'll be back down to our normal business this week. Here's a look at what we'll be doing in each class:
DRAMA 1
This week will be fully devoted to our Film and TV work. We'll be reviewing/discussing footage from our last scene on Monday, and then we'll be shooting more scenes and reviewing footage. We should be able to get through three scenes this week so remember, those of you who have not yet taped your scenes should have your lines memorized, ready to perform.
DRAMA 2
2nd Block:
On Monday you will start presenting your children's theater scripts. Groups that need a little extra time will be allowed a portion of the class to finish their scripts with their groups. We'll hear final readings on Tuesday and should have time to begin rehearsing. On Wednesday Ms. Cook will be joining us for a voice class, so please bring/wear comfortable dress out clothes that day. Thursday and Friday will be fully devoted to rehearsing your children's theater scenes.
4th Block:
Since we already heard a couple of initial readings of children's theater scenes last Friday, we'll start by hearing readings by the groups who haven't yet presented, and will also review any edits/revisions made by the groups that presented on Friday. We'll hear any final readings on Tuesday and then we'll be able to devote the remainder of the week to rehearsing your children's theater scenes.
DRAMA 4
On Monday, we'll be working GHP monologues with Drama 3. On Tuesday we will FINALLY begin hearing all four of your monologues back-to-back-to-back-to-back! I suspect it will takes us through Wednesday to complete monologue performances. On Thursday and Friday we'll get back to the personalization work in full force (I now have scenes selected for ALL of you). Remember that if you have already completed the personalization work and now have a scene selected for full staging, it is not too early to start memorizing your lines and completing your script analysis assignment. We may also spend some time later in the week joining with Drama 3 to provide extra rehearsal time for Showcase pieces.
On that note, if you have a drama piece that has been selected to perform in Showcase, you should meet with me and/or Mr. Adams early this week to discuss rehearsal schedule.
Also, as a note to seniors: please remember that since the closing of Metamorphoses, I now have some after school availability for taping pre-screen auditions and for college audition coaching sessions, in addition to the mornings. I am booked every morning this week but may have some after school availability, depending on the rehearsal schedule for Showcase. Please also remember that morning coaching sessions start at 7:45, but if you are taping a pre-screen I would like you to arrive no later than 7:30.
Have a great week, everybody!
